Battle of Minden

In the Battle of Minden troops from a coalition of Great Britain, Prussia, Hanover, the Duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg and the Landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel face a French-Saxon army. The battle taking place in front of the gates of the Minden fortification has a duration of just a few hours and ends with decisive victory of the allied forces and the retreat of the French armies. The threatening conquest of the Electorate of Hanover by the French is prevented; this significantly influences the outcome of the Seven Years' War to the advantage of Great Britain.
