1898-1904 Construction of the Zollern Colliery in Dortmund-Bövinghausen

As an expression of the patriotic spirit the colliery is named after the family of the Prussian Kings and Emperors, the Hohenzollern. The newly built colliery buildings are designed in the contemporary style (neo-Gothic by Paul Knobbe [1867-1956] and Art Nouveau by Bruno Möhring [1863-1929]) and are a witness to the colliery's striving for hegemony in the Ruhr Region.
